Wisdom Teeth Removal in Beaumont, AB

Tooth Extraction Surgery

Whether you have a single tooth to be extracted (with or without sedation) or all four wisdom teeth, you can expect some bleeding from the surgery site, bruising in the mid/lower face, swelling, difficulty opening the jaws from stiffness of the muscles, and (rarely) damage to nearby teeth and/or restorations during the operation. In any situation, local anesthetic (freezing) will be used to maximize your comfort. You will be informed if stitches have been placed, and whether you need to come back to have them removed. It is advised to avoid strenuous activity for at least 24 hours following an extraction, and to avoid smoking for at least 48 hours. You will be given written instructions on how to care for the surgical sites following an extraction.

Often, people are apprehensive about having their wisdom teeth removed. While this is completely understandable, there are ways to help ease the stress. Dr. Dan Dental offers two different types of sedation available to patients whose medical history allows it. Learn about our options for sedation dentistry today!

There is no referral necessary for sedation. A consult will be needed prior to your appointment, to give Dr. Dan an opportunity to review your medical history and accurately assess which type of sedation will work best for you.
